He was born the 3rd of 5 children to Archie and Irene Finamore on March 19, 1924 in Denver, Co. He spent his young life growing up in Denver. He enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country during World War II. The military sent him to Stanford University prior to his deployment as an amphibious landing craft operator in the Pacific Theatre. He married the love of his life Joan M. Mundt on July 29, 1950. They spent the first 9 years in Denver where their first 3 children were born and then moved to Marshfield so he could pursue his dream of owning his business. He and Joan owned and operated Finamore's Magnavox/Radio Shack and the Establishment Restaurant. Part of the joy of being a businessman was the friendships he developed daily. After his retirement in 1987 Joe and Joan returned to Denver to be re-acquainted with family and friends.

Joe is survived by his wife Joan, two sons Gary (Sharon) Finamore, Joseph Jr. (Carmen Zaleski) Finamore, two daughters Pam (Dave) Marsh, and Sue (Alan) Schulz; 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Alfred (Louise) Finamore and brother and sisters- in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, son Michael, father and mother-in-law and three sisters.

Joe built his life around his faith in God and appreciation for family and friends. He will be remembered for his wit, wisdom, sense of humor and integrity.
