Nola Seefeld Obituary

Seefeld, Nola E.

Nola E. Seefeld, age 95 of Colby, entered eternal life, Thursday December 6, 2012. She was a resident of the Colonial Center, Colby. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at St John's Lutheran Church in Riplinger. Pastor Rebekah Tarras will officiate. Burial will be in St John's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Unity, serving as pallbearers will be Troy Seefeld, Matthew Frane, Rick Hardrath, Brenton Engvold, Derek Wussow and Jon Wussow. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the church on Wednesday. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Nola was born January 20, 1917 at home, a daughter of Archie and Belle (Hulce) Schofield. She entered Grove Side grade school at age 4 and graduated from Spencer High School at age 16. Nola then entered Stevens Point Normal School and graduated with a teaching certificate at age 18.

On December 21, 1935, in Neillsville, Nola was united in marriage to Norman Seefeld. He preceded Nola in death on Sept. 18, 1977.

Nola taught at Grove Side and Soo Grove Schools from 1941-1947. She then took some time off teaching to assist her husband in building their house. She later worked at the St Croix Fish Pole Factory; J.C. Penney's and served as Unity Town Clerk from 1969-1987.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Nola enjoyed reading, and bowling. She particularly enjoyed sewing and made many bridesmaid dresses for her children and grandchildren. Nola was an active member of St John's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and used her sewing talents to create many beautiful banners for the church. She also loved traveling, especially to Englewood, Florida to be near the beach. Nola was also a charter member of the Up & Coming Homemakers Club.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Dennis (Doris) Seefeld, Owen, Glenn (Joanne) Seefeld, Tomahawk, WI, Lynn (Phillip) Frane, Unity and Cynthia Ackerman, Dorchester, 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren. One brother, Raymond "Sonny" (Pat) Schofield of Spencer and four sisters, Flossie Sook, Wausau, Vera Smith, Camp Douglas, Beulah Washkuhn, Green Bay and Myrna Schofield, Hazlehurst, WI. further survive Nola.

Nola was preceded in death by one grandson, Randy Hardrath, sisters, Betty Fischer, Jeanne Murray and one brother Richard Schofield, and an infant sister Ramona.
