Seehafer, Armon "Toby"

Armon "Toby" O. Seehafer, age 86, of Marshfield, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield. Father Eric Berns will officiate. Burial with Military Honors provided by the Loyal American Legion Post #175 will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield on Friday, March 15, 2013 and again at the church from 10:00 AM until time of services Saturday. Family friends will serve as pallbearers: Art Scottberg, Steve Milich, Henry, Bill, Kevin and Jim Zimmermann.

Toby was born on March 5, 1927 in Marshfield, the son of Otto and Freida (Busse) Seehafer. He received his education at Riverside School and Marshfield Senior High School. At the age of 17, Toby enlisted in the United States Navy, serving in the Pacific and was honorably discharged in 1946. Toby was united in marriage to Florence Koch on April 6, 1948 in Marshfield. Toby worked for Lloyd Felker Co. in the tire department as a repairman. He then worked as a truck driver for Swift & Company and Baltus Oil Co. until his retirement in 1992. After he retired he continued to drive part time, delivering buses and trucks for Monroe Truck Equipment and Mid-State Truck Service.

Toby was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #54. He enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling, riding for over 40 years in both Wisconsin and Michigan.

Toby is survived by his wife, Florence of Marshfield; two daughters: Mary Seehafer and Julie Seehafer, both of Marshfield; siblings: Milton Seehafer of Clintonville, Anita Weichelt of Marshfield, Janet (Dewey) Tyler of Green Valley, AZ and JoAnn (Gordon) Kloehn of Tucson, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Nancy on January 12, 2012 and two brothers: Norman and Gordon Seehafer.
