Bernadette "Bea" Agnes Allman, 98, of Marshfield, WI, passed away peacefully at Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield on Thursday, June 13, 2013.
"Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." Luke 23:43
Bea was born June 22, 1914 in Glen Haven, WI, the daughter of Leo Meattheas and Margaret Helen (Rauch) Harsch. Bea was united in marriage to Howard Russell Allman on December 25, 1941 in Chicago, IL. The couple was married 54 years before Howard's passing on April 4, 1996. Bea and Howard spent their time managing their farm, dancing, and traveling.
Bea was happiest when entertaining family and friends. She was known for her hospitality, her hats and hand-written letters. Bea was an active member of the County Homemakers Marshfield Center serving as representative, secretary and president. Bea loved to garden, paint, bird watch, travel and quilt. Each quilt was lovingly stitched by hand and they continue to grace the homes of family, friends and those residing at the Ronald McDonald House. She was a long time member of Saint John's Catholic Church and ministered communion to fellow Christians at Saint Joseph's Hospital. Bea also served on the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary.
Bea is survived by two daughters, Sharon (Charles) Clermont of Marshfield and Karen (Jim) Grancorvitz of Milwaukee. Her surviving grandchildren include Michael Clermont, Marshfield, Rene (Kathy) Clermont, Madison, Denise (Mark) Vobora, Auburndale, Jon Clermont, Madison, Loretta (Jeff) Veers, Marshfield, Lee (Autumn) Clermont, Rothschild, Roger (Corina) Grancorvitz, Tempe, Arizona, Ronald (Denise) Grancorvitz, Milwaukee, Rick (Teresa) Grancorvitz, Fairfax Station, Virginia and Kari (Jeff) Mlaker, Milwaukee. Bea is further survived by18 great-grandchildren, her brother Jerry Harsch of Orlando, FL her sister, Joan Trudeau of Marshfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers Norbert, Eugene and Robert Harsch and four sisters, Mary Harsch, Helen Cheatham, Marcella "Sally" Siemers and Adele Johnson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, June 24, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Sam Martin officiating. St. John's Funeral Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery alongside her husband Howard who died on April 4, 1996.
Visitations will be on Monday morning from 9:30am until time of services at St. John's Catholic Church.
