Dawn was born on June 27, 1966, the daughter of Bernard and Marcella (Burchyett) Binning in Burlington, WI. Dawn and her parents moved to Marshfield in 1969. She attended the Marshfield School System, graduating from Marshfield High School in 1984. Dawn graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 1989 with a BA degree in Elementary Education and added a learning disability certificate. She taught at various schools in Central Wisconsin and had to retire due to health concerns.
Dawn was married to David Murphy in Bowler, WI in 1999, and they later divorced.
Dawn was a life long member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield where she taught Sunday School and helped with the Christmas Program. She played guitar, liked camping and loved animals. Dawn also made greeting cards, like to sew and do needlework. In her last years, Dawn was still able to volunteer as a tutor at Tiny Tigers Day Care and the YMCA.
She was very fond of her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Anyone who knew Dawn was inspired by her belief in God, her cheerfulness, her selflessness and dedication to life. No matter how hard the wind blew, "Toots" just leaned into it that much more. A high point for Dawn last fall was at a cancer rally, when former Packer, Pro-Bowl player, LeRoy Butler met with Dawn because what she had written concerning her cancer ordeal.
Dawn is survived by her parents, Bernie and Marcie, Marshfield; her brother, Michael (Kelly) Binning, Brooklyn Center, MN and her sister, Sandra (David) Radzinski, Marshfield; two nieces, Elizabeth Radzinski and Erica Koshak and three nephews, Colton Koshak, Benjamin Radzinski and Patrick Binning. She further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents and by aunts and uncles.
Dawn's family extends their deepest appreciation and thanks to the House of the Dove Staff and the team at S. Joseph's Hospital Critical Care Unit, Dr. Vijay Aswani and the Marshfield Clinic Staff for the tender, compassionate care Dawn received and to Pastors Bob and Tricia for their love and comport. The Binning family can not begin to give enough special thanks and praise to Kathy Dieck and her Kinship Homes staff and patient/friends for being there for Dawn these last two years.
A memorial fund in Dawn's memory and honor will be planned at a later date.
