Ammon, Bonnie Kay (LaBonne)
Bonnie Kay Michelle (LaBonne) Ammon, 66 of rural Monroe, died on Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Monroe Clinic Hospital. Bonnie was born on April 27, 1946 to Harry and Mary (McGinley) LaBonne in Marshfield, WI. She attended Sacred Heart School in Marshfield. Bonnie married the love of her life, John Ammon, on August 16, 1991. She worked at Pleasant View Nursing Home as a CNA for over 10 years. She also worked as a bartender at the New Glarus Hotel, Monroe Country Club and at Turner Hall. Bonnie also farmed with her husband, John in Clarno Township. She was a member of the Women of the Moose
, Lodge #599. Her hobbies included stamping, reading mystery novels, crafting, and crocheting ice skates for her children. She spoiled her Pekingese dog, Jack, her cats and her birds. Bonnie had a special relationship with her granddaughter, Vanessa. They spent many hours together making homemade candies for holiday gatherings and stamping cards to send out to family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, John Ammon; children, Tami (Chuck) Hendrickson, Muscoda; DeeAnna (Dan) Straub, Brodhead; Darin (Tara Brimmer) Fortney, Lancaster; Kim (Robert Koch) Fortney, Monroe. She had seven grandchildren, Chase Hendrickson, Mike Wilson, Karrissa (Mat) Porterfield, Vanessa Fortney, Robin Foss, Montanna Fortney and Jesse Straub. She had six step-children. Brother, Michael (Renee) LaBonne; and a sister, Linda Cotter. She is predeceased by her parents; sister, Shirley Tobin; brothers, Donny Gaulke and Bobby Dick Gaulke.
A Celebration of Bonnie's life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home, with a gathering to follow at the Heritage Hall at 3 p.m.
