Daniel F. Zink, 83, Marshfield, died surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Rembs Funeral Home, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Veterans Field of Honor at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. The visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home.

Daniel was born on August 24, 1929 in the Township of McMillan, Marathon County, to Leonard and Laura (Selch) Zink. He attended St. John's Parochial School and was a 1947 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1948 until his honorable discharge as Staff Sergeant in 1952. He married Betty J. Wickershiem on June 9, 1957 in Marshfield. They later divorced.

Dan began working at Hub Dairy which later became Consolidated Badger Dairy and then Foremost Dairy where he was employed for 29 ½ years until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 563 and the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. He was an avid gardener and especially enjoyed growing flowers from seed and sharing them with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Janet (Tim) Morison of Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Zink of Pittsville, Lisa Zink and her husband Steve Gagliano of Mukwonago, Lori (Ron) Engel of Fond du Lac, and Brian (Shari) Zink of Marshfield. He is also survived by grandchildren, Josh Zink, Jacob (Erin) DeJarlais, Tyler DeJarlais, Jeremy Roemer, Brittany Engel, Ryan Engel, Brandon Zink, Nate Morison, and Dan Morison. He is further survived by a brother, Kenneth Zink of Marshfield.

He was predeceased by his parents, a son, Michael and a brother Donald.

The family will designate a memorial in Daniel's name at a later date.
