Joseph V. Fuchs, 87 of Marshfield died on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Golden Living Center Three Oaks in Marshfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Sam Martin officiating. Cindy Penker along with St. John's Funeral Choir will provided the music for the service. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Hewitt. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post # 54 of Marshfield at the cemetery.
Visitations will be on Sunday from 4-6pm at Rembs Funeral Home and again on Monday at St. John's from 9:30am until time of services. There will be a rosary service on Sunday at 5pm by the Knights of Columbus at the funeral home.
Joe was born on April 1, 1927 Medford to William and Marie (Klement) Fuchs. After his education, he entered the United States Army
Air Corps on October 23, 1945 and was honorable discharged as a corporal on April 2, 1947.
He was united in marriage to Pauline F. Zinthefer on May 24, 1949 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt.
After their marriage, they farmed in Auburndale Township for over 61 years.
Joe was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and a former member St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt where he sang in their choir and enjoyed dancing.
He is survived by his wife Pauline of Marshfield, son Joe (Kathy) Fuchs of Marshfield and grandson Christopher. Joe is further survived by one brother Norbert (Joan) Fuchs of Wisconsin Rapids and three sisters, Agnes (Reuben) Merkel of Marshfield, Marcella (George) Breu of Marshfield and Mary Margaret (Raymond) Chevalier of New Mexico.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Mary in infancy.
Memorials may be designated to St. John's Altar renovation in memory of Joseph.
