Lorraine E. Bombard, age 90, 606 South Walnut Avenue, Marshfield, and formerly of Stratford, died on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Marshfield Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 18, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. Rev. James Schaefer and a son-in-law Deacon Peter Burek will officiate and music will be provided by St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Stratford and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The visitation will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time.
Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, is assisting the family.
Lorraine was born on January 26, 1923 in Guttenberg, Iowa to Alois and Olive (Harter) Eilers. At the age of 6 she moved to Marshfield with her parents and family. She attended St. John's Parochial School in Marshfield. She married Ray Steines on July 28, 1943 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. They farmed in the Town of Cleveland, Marathon County for 26 years until moving to the village of Stratford. Lorraine had been employed at Weyerhaeuser Company in Marshfield for 10 years. Ray passed away on November 16, 1978. On December 17, 1983 Lorraine married Dale Bombard. He passed away on July 5, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Yosh) Steines of Columbus, Georgia, William (Donna) Steines of Wausau, Thomas (Marla) Steines of Mosinee, Susan (Arnold) Miller of Mosinee, Dennis (Mary Lou) Steines of Prairie du Chein, Marilyn (Peter) Burek of Wausau, and Rae Ann (Mark) Grubofski of Camp Douglas. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, and 4 step great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters and brothers, Marie Theurer of Arizona, Kate (Joseph) Kaiser of Stratford, Betty Jozwiak of Marshfield, Tony (Millie) Eilers of Marshfield, and Bernie (Joanne) Eilers of Arizona, and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Eilers, and Dorothy Kolb.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, an infant son, Bobby, and a brother, Donald Eilers
