Lucille Marie Tomlinson, 81, Stevens Point passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members, on Friday morning May 17, 2013 at North Haven Assisted Living Facility after a 10 year struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Monday, May 20, 2013 at St. Kilian's Catholic Church in Blenker with Fr. Peter Raj officiating. Burial will be at St Kilian's Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City and from 9:00am until the time of service at the church Monday. There will be a Rosary Service by the St. Kilian's Altar Society at 7:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Lucille was born December 31, 1931 in Blenker to Joseph G. and Rose (Ashbeck) Koller. She attended St. Kilian's Catholic School and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1949. Lucille was employed at Adawagam Paper Mill in Wisconsin Rapids where she met the love of her life - Clare Tomlinson. Lucille and Clare were joined in matrimony on September 11, 1951. Lucille spent her years raising her family, farming, working at Figis, and spending her later years in the Central Service Dept. of St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. Lucille retired from the hospital in 2002 after putting in 28 years of service. Lucille and Clare enjoyed much of their married life on the farm in Sherry. In retirement they moved to their home on Maywood Avenue in Marshfield, and later were moved to the North Crest Assisted Living Facility in Stevens Point.
Lucille is survived by her loving husband Clare along with the children she so loved, Sue (Jerry) Uher of Stevens Point, Ron (Mary) Tomlinson of Arpin, Roger (Sherri) Tomlinson of Sherry, Shirley (Mark Fieseler) Clausen of Eyota, MN, Carol (Paul) Haffenbredl of Auburndale, Kathy Mrozinski of Milladore, Tim (Chitra) Tomlinson of Colorado Springs, CO, and Lee (Jolene) Tomlinson of Ashland. "Grandma T." will also be greatly missed by her 26 grandkids and 23 great-grandkids.
Lucille is also survived by her sisters Grace Brock of Vesper, Ruth (Chuck) Adcock of Cameron Park, CA, Viola (Tony) Joosten of Rudolph and sisters-in-law Elaine Koller of Wisconsin Rapids, and Armelda Koller of Stevens Point.
Throughout her life Lucille enjoyed camping, fishing, travelling, gardening, cooking, crocheting, family gatherings, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Lucille was pre-deceased by her parents, daughter Sally, four brothers, James, Richard, Joseph, and Raymond Koller along with one sister Josephine in infancy.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established at a later date.
