Jost, Mildred Catherine

Mildred Catherine Jost, 90 of Hawthorne, Florida, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Windsor Manor in Starke. She was born April 21, 1923, in Stratford, Wisconsin, the only child of Oscar and Mabel Olson Larson. Mildred was a homemaker and owner of a local dairy farm. She was well known locally for her baking, quilting and crafts. She was a member of First Baptist Church Hawthorne, where she was active in her Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Jost was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Peter Jost, on July 18, 1969.

Left to cherish her memory are 7 children, Nancy Mims (John) of Hawthorne; Janet Sloane (John) of Keystone Heights; Ruth Allison (Jim) of Newberry; Carol Kubal (Jerry) of Tampa; Peter Jost (Arlene) of Hawthorne; Paul Jost (Martha) of Gainesville; and Brenda Coe (Rodney) of Augusta, GA; 18 grandchildren, Schuyler Sloane, Forrest Sloane, Jim Allison III, Tim Kubal, Matthew Kubal, Kathryn Kubal Bumgarner (Mike), John Jost (Jen), Leslie Jost, Joshua Jost, Bevin Marchetti, Kelly Davison (James), Chris Duke (Laura), Jacob Jost, Jackson Jost, Zachary Coe, Eli Coe, Nathan Coe and Noah Coe, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, 22027 SE 65th Avenue, with Pastor Charles Litzell officiating. A private family burial was held in Hawthorne Cemetery.
