Phillip Neil Boehning, age 73, of Loyal, Wisconsin, entered the heavenly home on Thursday, February 27, 2014. He was born on September 12, 1940 in Loyal, WI, to the late Alfred and Nellie Boehning.
Phil graduated from Loyal High School and served in the Marine Corps for 4 years following graduation. Phil was married to Kay Lorraine Brillhart for 14 years and had three children. He was a self-employed machinist and an active member in the community. He served as Town Chairman for the Town of Sherman, and served 24 years as Clark County Board Supervisor. Phil was an active member of the Clark County Fair Board and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, WI.
Phil's primary love was his family and friends. Although a fairly quiet guy most of the time, he always had a hidden smile on his face that was infectious to others. He also had a love for racing and the racing community.
Phil is survived by two children, Tonya (Boehning) Hamm of Spencer, WI, and Bridget Boehning of Marshfield WI; Two grandchildren, Shane and Jacob Hamm of Spencer, WI; 6 siblings: Georgiana (Boehning) Oelrich, Arthur Boehning, Elizabeth (Boehning) Meyer, Linda (Boehning) Gregg, Mary (Boehning) Olson, and Bobby Boehning.
Phil was predeceased by his son, P. Shane Boehning, who entered heaven's gates on July 16, 1988, and his parents Alfred and Nellie Boehning.
Visitation is planned for Monday, March 3, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer, WI. Funeral Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, WI, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. A visitation period at the church will also be held from 10:00 to 11:00 that morning.
