Urban A. Pecher 76 of Marshfield died on Sunday evening August 18, 2013 with his family at his side at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Thursday, August 22, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Jesse Burish officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #54 of Marshfield following the Mass at the cemetery.

Family will receive relatives and friends at Rembs Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7pm and again on Thursday at the church from 9:30am until Mass time. There will be a combined rosary service by the Knights of Columbus and Parish at 6:30pm Wednesday at Rembs Funeral Home.

Urban was born on December 4, 1936 in Athens to George and Mary (Felzkowski) Pecher. He was united in marriage to Janet A. Sulzer on July 25, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marathon.

He served in the active Wisconsin National Guard from Oct. 1961 until August 1962. Urban started with Roddis Plywood and retired from Weyerhaeuser Company after 46 years.

Urban enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, card playing and spending time with family and friends.

Urban is survived by his loving wife, Janet, children Mark (Susan) Pecher of Pleasant Prairie, Carrie Pecher of Chicago and Shelli (Mark) Sternweis of Marshfield; six grandchildren, Alesha (Lucas) Neitzke, Michael Pecher, Christina Martin, Michael Martin, Casey Sternweis and Andrew Sternweis and two great grandchildren, Ava and Jordan. He is further survived by two brothers Clem (Grace) Pecher of Marshfield, Duane ( Pat) Pecher of Stetsonville; two sisters Rose (Harvey) Soczka of Edgar and Pat (Jim) Miller of Dorchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
