Paul was born on May 11, 1943 in New Albin, IA to Tade and Doretta (Frielinger) Strub. He moved with his family to the Arpin area and attended Meadow Brook School and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1961.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth H."Betty" Schill on July 22, 1967 at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

On January 27, 2015 at 2:39 pm Strub Service officially closed its' doors. We would like to thank all of Paul's loyal customers throughout the years. Paul was an incredibly intelligent man and a jack of all trades. There wasn't much Paul could not fix. He worked at a job he loved until the day he died. He was a respected member of the Community. Paul was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed camp fires, Sunday drives with Betty, racing, watching the Packers, watching the Auburndale Apaches, loved a good bottle of beer, casino runs and most important to him was spending time with his family, friends and dogs Cobe and Tess. He was very proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed traveling to their many sporting events. He was employed by Haessly Oil for 30 years before opening the doors of Strub Service and Repair in 1993. We are going to miss him dearly.

He is survived by his wife Betty, children Kathryn (Rick) Schmutzer of Auburndale, Amy (Tom) Furo of Stratford, three grandchildren Sydney, Cason and Georgi Schmutzer; two sisters Evelyn (August) Woiak of Nekoosa and Marie Humphrey of Texas. He is further survived by his ten sisters-in-law, Shirley Strub and Yvonne Strub both of Wisconsin Rapids, Mildred Schill of Wisconsin Rapids, Ann (Dick) See Wisconsin Rapids, Lucille (Emil) Oertel Auburndale, Kathleen (Marvin) Klawikowski of Wisconsin Rapids, Jane Hahn of Vesper, Mary (Dave) Jepsen of Vesper and Helen (George) Swetz of Auburndale, Sarah (Leonard) Strigel of Wisconsin Rapids and brothers-in-law Donald (Lucy) Schill of Auburndale, Tom (Lynette) Schill of Auburndale, and Joe (Judy) Schill of Wisconsin Rapids.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Jerome and Bernard Strub; two brothers-in-law Richard Schill and Dale Hahn and a nephew Jimmy Schill.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be designated at a later date.

We are so sad to hear of the loss of one of the most remarkable men in northern Wood Co. I can't say enough about how he has helped people with getting their vehicles and/or equipment back to work.

Visiting with Paul was always a delight. He had a very upbeat additude.

I know his immediate family and close friends will celebrate his life as it was solid.

So sorry to hear of this tragedy, Paul was a wonderful person, may your good memories of Paul help you through this very difficult time. Loved babysitting for the girls when they were young, when you snowmobiled and enjoyed visiting with you at ball games.

God got a great mechanic, Paul had a gift for fixing anything we took to him, and that was alot. Diana and Mike Berdan

Dear Betty and Family, I was so very saddened to learn of Paul's passing. He was always so kind to my parents, helping them with whatever minor or major repairs were needed . . . often without sharing a bill. I enjoyed getting to know him when I babysat for you so many years ago. God's peace during this so very difficult time.

My Condolences To Betty & Her Family. Paul was one heck of a guy. I always liked His sense of humor - He'd always make My day when He'd call the business I work for. He will be missed by so many - Myself included. I will always have fond memories of Him, even though I never Met Him in person, I wish I had, and considered Him as a friend as well.
