Mrs. Alberta Grace Schuelke, age 95, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Golden Living Center-Three Oaks in Marshfield under the care of AseraCare Hospice. She was born on May 13, 1917 in, Mauston, WI, the daughter of Charles and Grace (Harris) Veeder. Alberta graduated from Adams-Friendship High School and from Teachers College at what is now called the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She taught high school home economics for 30 years in various Wisconsin schools: Hixton, Mukwonago, Park Falls, Marshfield and lastly Auburndale.
On January 22, 1949, Alberta was married to Robert Schuelke. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1990. Although there were no children in their home, they were a special couple to their nieces and nephews. She always made something special for them and a visit to her home was always one of great hospitality and wonderful cooking. Alberta enjoyed cooking, baking, craft projects, puzzle books and was an avid reader. She also belonged to various book clubs.
Alberta leaves to cherish her memory to her sister-in-law, Odette Veeder, nieces and nephews, Carol (Fehrenbach) Hughes, Ken Fehrenbach, Steve Waterman, Peter Waterman, Ginny (Schuelke) Stevenson, Jack Witt, Jeannette (Veeder) Batko, Carol (Veeder) Christofferson, Robert Veeder, Karen (Solie) Johnson, Don Solie, Terry Wilson, Tom Aegeter, Charles Aegeter and Judith (Aegeter) Keller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, her sisters, Barbara, Mary Ellen, Frances, Nellie and brother, Fred.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield (1010 E. Veterans Parkway). The Reverend Dean Pingel will officiate. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services all at the funeral home.
