Margaret C. Mancl, 84, formerly of Marshfield, died peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Whispering Pines Assisted Living, Plover.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Milladore, where Margaret remained a contributing member. Rev. Dennis R. Stanchik will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Milladore with grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4pm until 8pm at Martens/Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, and on Thursday from 9:30am until time of service at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. A parish rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on November 3, 1927, in Blenker, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Tauschek) Kelnhofer. She married Donald F. Mancl of Milladore, on September 26, 1945, at St. Kilian's Catholic Church in Blenker. Together they owned and operated an 80-acre farm in Milladore.

Donald and Margaret had fourteen children. After 31 years of marriage, Donald died on June 8, 1976. Margaret continued to faithfully raise and support her children. She admitted it was the grace of God and a daily remembrance of her husband that gave her the faith, strength, and courage to maintain her commitment to her children. The family farm was sold in 1977 and Margaret moved to Milladore. In 1995, she moved to Cedar Rail Court Apartments in Marshfield. In 2011 Margaret again moved to the Stevens Point/Plover area to be closer to her family and receive the support of assisted living.

Margaret enjoyed playing her electronic piano/organ, card games, reading, shopping, and going out to eat. She treasured and valued most her faith, family, and friends. Her children admit learning from their mother the qualities of trust, kindness, courage, compassion, sacrifice, love, a strong work-ethic, and how to pray and constantly thank God for what they do have. Most of all they learned from her how to give without thought of getting something in return.

Margaret is survived by Donald (Linda) Mancl of Wisconsin Rapids, Dolores (John, special friend), Scipior of Stevens Point, Francis Mancl of Hazel Green, WI, James (Judy) Mancl of Omaha, NE, Ruth (Gregory) Lindstrom of Stevens Point, David (Shelle) Mancl of High Point, NC, Shirley Bailey of Stevens Point, Patricia Rusch of Rudolph, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Grassel of Milladore, Bill (Elizabeth) Mancl of Stevens Point, Elizabeth (Clayton) Bare of North Freedom, Larry (Joyce) of Plover, and Jesse Mancl of Milladore. Margaret was proud that she had come to know and enjoy 45 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Margaret Ann, a granddaughter (adopted) Rachael Mancl, a grandson, Kevin Scipior, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Whispering Pines Assisted Living for their kind and compassionate care of Margaret and special thanks to Ministry Hospice, especially Justin G., RN.
