Yunger, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Yunger, 73 of Marshfield and formerly of Milladore died on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Madison.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30am Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore with Fr. John Ofori-Domah officiating. Catherine Warnecke along with St. Wenceslaus Senior Choir will provide the music. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitations will be from 4-7pm Sunday at the Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and again on Monday from 9:30am until time of service at the church.
Mary Ann was born on October 30, 1939 in Milladore to John and Evelyn (Bretl) Wotruba. She attended Milladore Graded School and graduated from P.J. Jacob High School in Stevens Point. She was eleven years old when she learned how to play the accordion. Throughout her life, she played to the delight of various ethnic groups, family and friends.
She was united in marriage to Stephen L. Yunger on January 18, 1958 in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore. Steve was in the United States Navy which took them to the east coast and later transferred to the west coast in California. After his military retirement, they moved to South Dakota, back to San Diego, CA before moving to Pleasant Prairie, WI in1989. They moved to Marshfield in 2000.
Mary Ann worked as a secretary in federal civil service, retiring in December 1999.
She played her accordion for area nursing homes, shut-ins and events during her retirement and along with her husband, was a member of the Czeck/Slovak Singers of Central Wisconsin.
She is survived by her husband Stephen of Marshfield, son Michael Yunger of Salem, WI and
a sister Loretta Kemen of Racine.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Charles Wotruba and a brother-in-law, Donald Kemen.
