Nora A. Moen, 95, Marshfield, died peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with Rev. Jon Guenther officiating. Burial will take place in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Cameron, Wood County. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 am until service time at Rembs Funeral Home.
Nora was born on December 27, 1917 in Pittsville, the daughter of Louis and Helena (Hopp) Schiller. She attended school through the 8th grade .She was united in marriage to John Moen, Sr. on June 20, 1936 in Pittsville. He died on February 25, 1998.
Nora and her husband were avid stock car racers. She began racing in the 1950's, continuing to race for many years even when she was expecting her last child. She was a great cook and a wonderful mother and grandmother. In her later years she enjoyed going on long car rides.
She is survived by 6 sons, Gerald Moen of Redlands, CA, Richard (Jean) Moen of Marshfield, Dennis Moen of Pinedale, WY, John Moen Jr., of Marshfield, and Randy Moen and David (Grace) Moen, all of Plover. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and by 2 brothers, Donald Schiller of Apple Valley, CA and Wayne Schiller of Tuscumbia, Alabama, and a sister, Lois Schallow of Marshfield. She is further survived by a loving caregiver Debbie Zwicke who adopted Nora as her grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers, 3 daughters-in-law, and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be designated in her name to Trinity Lutheran Church or the House of the Dove.
