Richard Kenneth Drews, 21 of Edgar, WI passed away accidently on Friday, June 22, 2012 in the Eau Pleine Resevoir, Town of Green Valley, Marathon County.
Rick was born on June 20, 1991 to Dan and Susie (Clement) Drews, Wausau, WI. Rick loved life and lived every day to its fullest potential. He made a friend with every person he met and left a lasting impression on them with his smile and personality. He respected everyone he met.
Rick attended Marshfield elementary school, St. Joseph's grade school and graduated from Stratford High School in 2009. He attended the University of Eau Claire and Chippewa Valley Technical College. He played several sports in high school, but football was the sport he loved the most. He excelled every time he took the field and loved being a Stratford Tiger. He was on three state championship Football teams that compiled a team record of 40 wins and 2 losses in three seasons. He went on to play college football at Eau Claire from 2009-2010.
Rick loved fishing, hunting and just spending time in the outdoors. He loved fishing with his friends and family on the Eau Pleine Flowage. He also enjoyed lifting weights with his father, brother and friends. One of his other favorite places was the family farm in Saxon. He loved spending time with his grandparents working the dairy farm whether it be making hay or just the daily farm chores. He was always willing to help others. Deer hunting in November was the one season he looked forward to every year so he could spend time with his cousins and family. He currently holds the largest buck taken on the farm and was still chasing the elusive 30pt buck.
Rick is survived by his parents and brother Davis and sister Justine at home, grandparents Ken & Sandy Clement of Saxon, WI and Robert Drews of Marshfield. He is further survived by his aunts & uncles, Karen (Tom) Beattie, Jim Clement, Joe (Cathy) Clement, Nicki (Tom) Wright, Chris (Nikki) Drews and Caroline Drews. He is also survived by numerous cousins and man y friends.
Rick was preceded in death by an uncle Greg Panosso and grandmother Laverne Drews.
