Frank H. Sebastian, 87, formerly of Marshfield, died Feb. 27, 2012, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Ill. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hewitt, Wisconsin. The Rev. Dean Pingel will officiate. Sally Becker will serve as organist for congregational hymns. Burial with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post 54 will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hewitt.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt.
The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A memorial service will also be held at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Evanston, Illinois at a later date.
Mr. Sebastian was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Spencer, Wisconsin, the son of John and Martha (Kuppen) Sebastian. He attended town of Veefkind schools.
Frank served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He entered military service on Nov. 27, 1943, and was honorably discharged on May 4, 1946.
Frank was united in marriage on May 28, 1949, to Lillian I. Boehning at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hewitt. Lillian preceded Frank in death on Nov. 7, 2007.
The couple moved to Evanston, Illinois in 1951, where Mr. Sebastian worked as a carpenter. He remodeled and built homes with several different contractors in the Chicago area.
Frank was an avid sports fan; he especially followed the Packers and Brewers. He enjoyed fishing and was always eager for a Canadian fishing trip. Frank loved Lillian's delicious home cooked meals.
Mr. Sebastian was a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hewitt and current member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Evanston, Illinois.
Sons, Dale Sebastian, Chicago, Ill., Rick Sebastian, Huntley, Ill., and one daughter, Patricia Sebastian, Kenosha, Wisconsin, lovingly survive Frank. Three grandchildren, Samantha (Paul) Sinkovits, Alexandra and Zachary and one brother, Zeke (Alice) Sebastian, Marshfield further survive Frank.
Beside his wife, Lillian, three brothers, Charles, Henry and Norman preceded Frank in death.
