Sauer, Carolyn A.
Carolyn A. (Swensen) Sauer, 68, Marshfield, died on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital with her loving family at her bedside. Family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, February 7 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. A Rosary prayer service is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 8 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bakerville. Visitation prior to mass starting at 9:30 a.m.
Carolyn was born to Norman and Lucille (Pankratz) Swensen on June 10, 1945. She was a 1963 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. She was united in marriage to Mark Sauer on October 16, 1965 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt. Before becoming a supervisor at Figi's, she worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and as a stay at home mother. She enjoyed life to its fullest and always put everyone's needs before her own. Most of all she was a loving wife and a caring and nurturing mother and grandmother. Her favorite past times included fishing, sewing, needlework, and crocheting many items that she would give to anyone in need. She was an avid gardener and an exceptional cook. She also enjoyed spending time with her mother playing bingo. Every year she looked forward to the annual shopping trip with her sisters.
Carolyn is survived by her mother, Lucille Swensen; husband, Mark Sauer; a son Brian (Dorothy McDonald) Sauer; two daughters, Janet (Ronald) Geldernick, Darla (Ronald) Seehafer, all of Marshfield; three brothers, Jerome (Kathy) Swensen, Glenn (Ardine) Swensen, Donald (Lori Scheller) Swensen, all of Marshfield; five sisters, Mary Jane (Bob) Hofmann, Marshfield, Colleen (Arnie) Stini, Marshfield, Joann (Jerry) Haffenbredl, Auburndale, Ardell (Mike) Mueller, Wisconsin Rapids, Ann (Scott) Drexler, Marshfield; eight grandchildren, Melissa, David, and Taylor Geldernick; Jake, Eric, and Lauren Seehafer; Judah and Lea McDonald. She is preceded in death by her father, Norman Swensen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbus Catholic High School for a scholarship that will be set up in Carolyn's name.
