Jan Anderson Obituary
Anderson, Jan

Jan L. Anderson, age 93, of Marshfield, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Marshfield Care Center, Marshfield. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marshfield. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church. Burial will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.

Jan was born February 22, 1921 to Adolph and Anna (Krahn) Backus in Kewaskum, WI. She was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High in the class of 1939. Jan and James Anderson were joined in marriage on August 9, 1946 in Marshfield.

Jan enjoyed her life every day. Many good times and memories were made with family: her grandsons, her sisters Maude, Joan, and her sister-in law Bernice, other relatives and friends. She went camping for many years with lots of laughs, stories, good food, music, and jokes shared around the fire, especially at the Eau Pleine Flowage Boat Club. She was an active sports fan all her life, closely following the Milwaukee Braves/Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Bucks or Badger basketball. Jan will be dearly missed by many for her smiles and kindness. She was always a "good sport".

The family wishes to especially thank our cousins, Rosy and Terry Frank, for their loving support and prayers.

Special love and gratitude to Bruce Kuehn, Jan's son-in-law, for years of making Jan laugh.

Jan is lovingly survived by her children: Joel Anderson of Marshfield and Jill (Bruce) Kuehn of Brookfield, WI; her grandsons: Brett Kuehn and Seth Anderson; her sister, Joan Seubert, sister-in-law, Bernice Backus, and many nieces and nephews.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James, her brothers: Orlin Backus and Lloyd Backus; and her sisters: Maude Frank and Millicent Backus.

The Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home is assisting the Anderson family with funeral arrangements.

Thank you to the Nursing staff at the Marshfield Care Center for their wonderful care of our Mother these last years.
