Costa, Ronald C.

Ronald C. Costa, 83 of Marshfield died on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at the Marshfield Care Center.

Ron was born on July 15, 1931 in Hannibal, MO to Joseph and Rose (Dempsey) Acosta. Prior to his military, he played college basketball for Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He served in the United State Army during the Korean Conflict and after his honorable discharge, he returned to Chicago. He moved to Woodland Hills, CA where he was employed in the electronics business. He later moved to Providence, RI, hometown of his wife then finally to Marshfield in January 2009.

Ron is survived by his children Gary Costa, Ronald Costa, Daniel (Lea) Costa and Erin (Kevin) Vandenberg all of Marshfield and six grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother Bruce (Rebecca) Acosta of Denver, CO and a sister Carol.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the love of his life.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield with Rev. Eric Berns officiating. Burial will following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
