Doris was born on February 28, 1925 in Marshfield to James and Theresa (Multerer) Felten, She attended St. John's Catholic School. As a teen, she was active in the 4-H and won ribbons for her sewing and various other projects. Doris was united in marriage to Henry J. Gadke on August 21, 1948 at St. John's Catholic Church by Rev. Norbert Dall. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in August 1998.

The happy couple moved a house onto the town of McMillan farm where Doris was raised and purchased the farm from her parents. They farmed side by side until their retirement in 1987. She enjoyed traveling, casino adventures, and especially spending time at the cabin fishing, riding in the pontoon and sitting around the campfire with her northwoods friends. Doris was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed many crafts as she was very creative and shared the products of her many talents with those she loved. Painting was her latest endeavor and Doris actually finished her last beautiful picture just four days prior to her death. She was an excellent baker, gardener, fisherman, and could fix almost anything, but above all she was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her faith, family and friends were what she treasured most in her life. She loved having a houseful of family and friends for any holiday or celebration. Doris was a member of St. John's PCCW, volunteered at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital watering flowers and Samaritan House serving meals. She seemed to have limitless energy and was busy all the time.

Doris is lovingly survived and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Maryann (Dennis) Paasch of Mt. Ulla, NC, and Judy of Marshfield, three grandchildren, Douglas, Daniel and Dawn Marie (Mick Kinley) and two great grandchildren, Ashley and Allen. A sister, Marian Jost of Fond du Lac, brother in law, Jon Pinnow of Racine and many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Henry in 2008, sisters Julia Felten, Esther Aschenbrenner, Suzanne Mann and brothers, James, Harold and Raymond.

Thank you to Ministry Home Care Hospice Services, Rev. Samuel Martin and a very special thank you to Dr. Lori Remeika for her compassionate and gentle care of the years and especially over the past several months.

Our "Granny" has left us to join our "Gramps" in heaven, but she will remain lovingly in our hearts and all those who were blessed with the honor and pleasure of being a part of her long, full life.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be set up later by the family.
