Herbert E. Bluhm, age 79, of Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Stoney River Assisted Living in Marshfield, after spending the day visiting with his entire family. A Memorial Service honoring and celebrating Herb's life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield with the Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will be held in Brooklawn Memory Gardens, Town of Richfield with Military Honors provided by Marshfield American Legion Post #54. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 16 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Herbert was born on July 14, 1933 in Stratford, WI, the son of Henry and Cora (Scheunemann) Bluhm. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy. Herbert was united in marriage to Donna Mae Foltz on August 1, 1960 in Pine City, MN. He worked at Felker Brothers Manufacturing, retiring after 36 years.
As a young man, Herb liked to ride motorcycle and was a member of T & T riders. He was a talented handyman, who could fix anything for anyone, be it electrical, plumbing, woodworking, automotive, welding or general construction. This man did it all. Herb enjoyed football, racing, spending time in his workshop, fine tuning any of his useful inventions/creations. He was passionate about his prized tool collection. Herb had a great sense of humor and delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Herbert is survived by his wife, Donna Mae; seven children: Randall (Julie Johnson), Mark, Dean (Wanda Konz), Brenda (Irvin) Neuwmann, Perry (Ann Paradis), Robbie (Courtney Owen) and Erick (Connie Schulz); 22 grandchildren: Quinn, Benjamin, Jacqueline (Ian Trudeau), Tara (DJ) Wendell, Barbie (Tyler Griepentrog), Kaylle (Jason Widmann), Amanda (Sam Reseburg), Jena (Bobby Tran), Justin Cramm, Brandon Cramm, Katie, Adam, Jacob, Lucas, Aubrea, Ryan Neumann, Cydney, Cameron, Brad Neumann, Noah, Olivia and Landon; eight great-grandchildren: Beatrix, Lauren, Crosby, Blake, Reese, Ava, Jack and one on the way. He is further survived by three siblings: Hilda (Elmer), Larry (Irene) and Lorraine (Red) Speck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Henry Jr. (Ruth), Otto (Myrtle), Art (MaryAnn) and Ed (Marion); and sisters: Esther (Al) Smolke and Vye (Bill) Nennig.
