Schmitt, Jeffrey

Jeffrey J. Schmitt, 58, Marshfield, died on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Eric Berns officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 1:30 pm until service time at Rembs Funeral Home.

Jeffrey was born on October 11, 1954 in Marshfield to James H. and Shirley M. (Christensen) Schmitt. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He received an Associates Degree from Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids. He married Susan A. Rebone in 1980 and they later divorced.

Jeff worked in maintenance with Land 'O Lakes, Fleming Foods and Lemke Cheese. He also did construction and electrical work and always helped with family projects. He loved reading, classic rock, playing cards and the outdoors. He married Susan A. Rebone in 1980 and they later divorced.

He is survived by 2 sons, a daughter and 4 grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Schmitt of LaCrosse, and their daughter, Anorah; Elizabeth (Brett) Blakemore of Kansas City, MO and their children, Lincoln and Lyla; and Ryan Schmitt (Allison Cox) of St. Petersburg, FL. and their daughter, Mila. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Shirley Schmitt of Marshfield, and his brothers and sisters, Rodney (Rita) Schmitt of Green Bay, Anthony (Brenda) Schmitt, Janet Schmitt, all of Marshfield, his twin brother James P. (Shirley) Schmitt of Chili, Gordon Schmitt, Dale Schmitt and Cindee Charron, all of Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Marie Schmitt.

The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
