Irene A. Tischendorf, age 95, of Marshfield, died Thursday, January 31, 2013 at A Touch of Home Assisted Living in Marshfield. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Auburndale. Pastor Mark Lundgren will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 4-8:00 PM at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Marshfield. There will also be a time of visitation at the church from 10-11:00 AM on Tuesday.

Irene was born on December 1, 1917 in Auburndale, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Mewes) Hamus. She attended school in Auburndale. She was united in marriage to Otto Tischendorf on June 26, 1937 at St. John Lutheran Church in Auburndale. The couple lived and farmed together in the Arpin area. They retired in 1966 and moved to Marshfield where Irene worked for Dairy Land Homes. She also did babysitting and housecleaning.

Irene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Auburndale. She greatly enjoyed polka music, dancing and visiting the casino.

She is survived by her son Roger (Pamela) Tischendorf of Marshfield, 4 grandchildren Rick (Lori) Tischendorf of Marshfield, Randy (Jane) Tischendorf of Marshfield, Tammi (Jack) Pernsteiner of Arpin and Todd (Marla) Tischendorf of Pittsburg, PA., 10 great grandchildren Amy (Warren) Manecke, Sara (James) Lewerenz, Lisa (Jeff) Lofy, Scott (Becky) Tischendorf, Brittany (Jesse) Noll, Austin, Ethan and Caitlyn Pernsteiner, Hallie and Ava Tischendorf and 8 great-great grandchildren Emily, Nick and Kylee Manecke, Abbi and Dylan Lewerenz, Bryce Lofy, Vanessa Noll and Eli Tischendorf. She is further survived by one sister Rose Heller of Rockford, IL and her very good friend Orville Ohm.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Otto, on October 13, 1978, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, one granddaughter Michelle and her special friend Walter Roehl.
