Hastreiter, A.J.

A.J. Hastreiter, age 87 of Marshfield, died peacefully, Saturday morning February 2, 2013 at the Continental Manor Golden Living Center in Abbotsford. Funeral services will be held 3:00PM Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway, Marshfield). The Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held from 1-3:00PM Wednesday at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield.

A.J. was born December 17, 1925 in Wisconsin Dells, a daughter of Charles and Ruth (Dixon) Cone. She graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School. A.J. received her teaching credentials from the St Joseph's School of Nursing, graduating with the class of 1942.

Following graduation, A.J. worked at St Joseph's Hospital prior to her marriage.

Alma was united in marriage to Theodore J. Hastreiter on June 12, 1948 at St John The Baptist Catholic Church. He preceded A.J. in death.

A.J. was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the outdoors, she was especially fond of camping, canoeing, hiking and traveling. In retirement she traveled the United States extensively in her motor home. One of her accomplishments was hiking most of the Appalachian Trail. She also spent considerable time enjoying the nature and waters of the north woods. In her quite time she enjoyed carving, ducks were her specialty.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Mark (Janet) Hastreiter, Pittsville, Thomas Hastreiter, Seattle, Washington, Michael Hastreiter, Marshfield, Louis (Pam) Hastreiter, Sun Prairie, WI and Judy Hastreiter, Florida. Seven grandchildren, Andrea, Daniel, William, Nicholas, Joseph, Thomas & Kelley Hastreiter and one step grandson, Jacob Utities further survive.

Beside her husband, Theodore, two children, Stephen and Theodore Jr. and one sister, Charlotte preceded A.J. in death.
