Marilyn Grair, age 73, of Blenker, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 6:00 PM at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway) Marshfield. Visitation will be held from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Marilyn Bernice Heath was born in Rochelle, IL on January 18, 1940 to Homer and Hazel (Haugen) Heath. She graduated from Fort Atkinson High School, and later earned a degree from Mid-State Technical College. For many years she provided an answering service for the Bovis Veterinary Clinic.
Marilyn was an active member of the Nazarene church where she had served as church secretary and treasurer.
Marilyn enjoyed drawing and painting, spending time with her family, and doting on her grandchildren and her dog Max. She was especially fond of animals, enjoyed watching birds, and was an avid horse rider until disease at an early age prevented her from continuing. She was a kind and generous person who taught her friends and family the meaning of patience and sacrifice.
She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Ball of Fishtail, MT and Judith Jensen (Ray LaBarge) of Auburndale. She is also survived by four children, Cathy Wenzel of Blenker, Charles Grair of Lubbock, TX, Harry (Lisa) Grair of Stevens Point, and Tricia (Rollie) Ashbeck of Wisconsin Rapids. She is further survived by six grandchildren, Nathan Wenzel of Fall River, Hazel Ashbeck of St. Cloud, MN, Zach Ashbeck of Rochester, MN, Hannah Ashbeck of Wisconsin Rapids, and, Trent and Haley Grair of Stevens Point, as well as, special nieces, Amy and Holly.
