James Alfred Mundt, age 69, of Spencer peacefully answered the call from our Savior above on Friday, March 29, 2013 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer at 6:00 p.m.

Visitation will be held from 4:30-6:00 p.m. prior to services at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home in Spencer on Tuesday.

James Alfred Mundt was born on September 6, 1943 the son of Albert and Virginia (Kummer) Mundt in Marshfield. He attended Marshfield school and graduated from the Marshfield High School in 1961. He entered the United States Air Force and served his country from 1962-1968 in California and Alaska. James and Connie MacDowell were united in marriage on September 6, 1943 in Marshfield. James worked for various companies in the area as a truck driver, giving 22 years of service to G.H. Miller of Wisconsin Rapids. Jim was an over the road driver for Sparhawk Co. of Wisconsin Rapids for the last two and a half years until his health took him from the road. Jim enjoyed his work immensely and also loved to enjoy a stockcar race when he found time.

James is survived by his wife, Connie of Spencer, his son Scott (Amy) Mundt of Ashland, WI, his stepchildren Debra (Jim) Hardy of Spring Valley, MN, Sharon (Todd) Teigen of Austin, MN, Shain (Rob) Lane of Spencer, Missy (Pat) Schiller of New Richmond, WI and Kim Schiller of Madison. James is further survived by 9 grandchidlren and 5 great grandchildren as well as one brother: Larry Mundt of Marshfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert Mundt in 2012.

Jim's last wish was to be at home surrounded by his family at the time of his death. His family would like to express deep gratitude to the Ministry Home Care Hopsice team and their friends for making his last wish come true.
