Veronica H. "Verone" Kreckler, 96 formerly of Auburndale died on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Country View Assisted Living in Arpin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Auburndale with Fr. Peter Raj officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with her great nephews serving as pallbearers, Francis, Mike, Steve, Donald, Kenneth and Derick Manlick, who she always treasured as grandsons.
Visitations will be on Wednesday at St. Mary's Church from 10am until time of services.
Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Veronica was born on October 24, 1916 in town of Auburndale to Joseph and Sophie (Neuman) Pankratz. She attended St. Joseph's Parochial School in Hewitt. On June 8, 1937, she was united in marriage to George A. Kreckler at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hewitt. George died on June 27, 1978.
While they farmed in the town of Milladore for 27 years, she worked at Gruenke's Cheese Factory and later the Holiday Inn in Marshfield. When they retired, they moved to the town of Auburndale and then in 1984 she moved to Ann Auburn Village in Auburndale.
Verone worked part time with the hot lunch program at St. Mary's School, retiring in 1989.
She loved gardening, crocheting, baking and listening to polka music. Along with being a member of St. Mary's Church, she belonged to the Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Verone is survived by a sister-in-law Verna Pankratz of Stevens Point and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Philomine Schneider, Sophie Hartl, Elizabeth Hoffman, Lorraine Gerges, Loretta Lair and Josephine Konrardy; eight brothers, Tony, Edward, William, Michael, Pete, John, Philip and a brother who died in infancy.
