Treyden John Kurtzweil, age 1, died in his parents loving arms, on June 13, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital Marshfield, WI after a courageous 10 month battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, June 17, 2013 at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home (1010 E. Veterans Parkway) in Marshfield. A private family service will be held on a different date.
Although he was here on earth for a very short time, Trey touched the lives of many people throughout the nation. He is a hero in the eyes of his family, friends, and community. Treyden had a smile that would melt your heart and a giggle that would make you smile from ear to ear. He absolutely loved watching Mickey Mouse, listening to his Mommy sing oldies, and watching his Daddy make monkey faces at him. He taught us that the little things in life mean so much and to never give up fighting.
Treyden is survived by his mother and father Cassie and Travis Kurtzweil, grandparents Linda (Michalski) & Allen Hotchkiss, Betsy (Martin) & John Kurtzweil, an Uncle Craig (Andrea) Hotchkiss, an Aunt Kimberly (Scot) Rehm, and cousins Kaleigh, Kolton, Teygan, Brayden, Gracie, and Christian. He is also survived by many Great Grandparents, Great Aunts and Uncles, and second cousins.
Treyden was proceeded in death by his Uncle Chad Hotchkiss, Great Uncles Butch Hotchkiss and Ken Kurtzweil, Great Grandparents Maxine Hotchkiss, "Sep" Martin, Earl and Florence Kurtzweil.
Treyden's parents were strong advocates in finding a cure for this deadly and rare disease that unfortunately claimed the life of their beautiful son. They plan to start a foundation in Treyden's name to help other children and their families that suffer from this traumatic disease.
Treyden's parents would like to thank all the medical facilities that assisted in the care of Treyden, but a special thank you to Dr. McManus and the staff at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital for never giving up on Treyden and for giving them a year to spend with their precious baby boy. Also a special thank you to the community and followers for their overwhelming amount of support.
