Alice Mae Johnson, 84, of Vesper, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at the House of The Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin, on July 10, 2013. She was born on August 10, 1928 in Waukegan, Illinois. She married Robert Gene Smith and they later moved to Bristol, Wisconsin, raising their family, living and working on the farm owned by her father. They later moved to Janesville, Wisconsin. They later divorced. She married Amos Johnson, and moved to Auburndale, Wisconsin. They later divorced. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital for 20 years. She retired and moved to the Lake Tomahawk area where she lived for 16 years with her special friend Joe Liotta. She loved her family and our special get-togethers. She had a passion for playing cards and bingo. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo with her special friend Cleo, her special friend Larry and her friends at the Marshfield Senior Center, Pittsville lunch site ladies and with her Vesper lunch site friends. She also enjoyed tending her flowers and birds. She will always be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, hugs for all, cooking a good dish and just overall caring and wanting to help out. We will miss you dearly mom/gram/friend.
She is survived by three of her four children; Jacquelyn Ann (David) Dobson, Janesville, WI; Steven (Deborahanne) Smith, Marshfield, WI.; and Leslie (Dale Bouma) Bendickson, seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, with a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Jerry, and daughter-in-law, Francine Mikkelson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and a daughter, Roberta Jean Mikkelson.
There will be no formal services. Our mom wished for a private family get-together at a later time.
