Ella L. Rapp, 88, Marshfield, died peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 am until service time at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Ella was born on September 29, 1924 in Colby, Wisconsin, to Frank Sr. and Esther (Werth) Hass. As a young lady she was employed in domestic work in Marshfield and also worked at the egg plant. During World War II she was employed at Roddis Plywood where she assembled airplane wings for the war effort. After raising her family, she became employed at Weyerhaeuser Company for over 20 years until her retirement. She was united in marriage to Elmer F. Rapp on May 19, 1945 in Colby. He died on June 26, 1990.
Ella enjoyed crocheting and especially loved being with and cooking for her children and grandchildren. She was very active in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and served as commander of the group.
She is survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons, Sandy (Maynard) Tremelling of Spencer, Betty (the late James) Herdina of West Bend, Kenneth (Mary) Rapp of Kaukauna, and Randy (Terri) Rapp of Wisconsin Rapids. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is further survived by 2 brothers and a sister, Frank Hass of LaCrosse, Norman Meinke of Stetsonville, and Gertrude (John) Alexander of Medford.
She was predeceased by her parents, her stepfather, Carl Meinke, and brothers, Roland and Rueben Hass.
Memorials may be designated in her name to the Disabled American Veterans in Marshfield.
