Blum, Phillip J.

Phillip John Blum, 59, Marshfield, left this world unexpectedly at his home early Sunday morning, October 27, 2013 and joined his family and friends in heaven.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Rembs Funeral Home and on Thurs. from 9:30 am until service time at St. John's Catholic Church.

Phillip was born on December 9, 1953 in Marshfield, the son of Donald and Claudine (Radlinger) Blum and was a 1972 graduate of Columbus High School. He then attended the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

He was united in marriage to Linda M. Weiler on October 29, 1983 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Auburndale.

Phil was employed at Info Group Targeting Solutions as a computer programmer. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, shooting pool, watching sports with friends, deer hunting with his son Brian, making fabulous Sunday meals for his family, and weekly Friday night outings with Linda and the kids. Phil took pride in taking care of his family and being there for them. He loved his special pets, Tolly, Zoey and Snickers. He was a member of the Marshfield Elks Club.

Phil is survived by his wife, Linda and their children, Brian (special friend - Chelsea Stein) Blum of Milwaukee, Brittney Blum of Marshfield and Nicole (special friend - Ryan Quinnell) Blum of Marshfield. He is also survived by his mother and her husband, Claudine and Jerome Hamus of Marshfield, his siblings, Paul (Kathy) Blum of Sheboygan, Donna Hasse of Marshfield, Rodney (Allison) Blum of Keller, Texas, and Stephen (Eve) Blum of Fond du Lac, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Janet Weiler and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Joann) Weiler, Perry (Linda) Weiler, David (Connie) Weiler, Dan (Lori) Weiler, Alan Weiler, Lisa Tomfohrde, and Jamie (Nicole) Weiler.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald "Fritz" Blum, his father-in-law, James Weiler and his sister-in-law, Wanda Weiler.

The family will designate a memorial at a later date.

Phil my love, thank you for taking such good care of me through all these wonderful years together. I could have never asked for a better husband, father and friend. You will always fill a special place in our hearts and you will be missed dearly. Love forever, Linda
