James Leezer Obituary

Leezer, James

James "Jim" Ronald Leezer, of Marshfield, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on Friday, November 13, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years; Sarah Ann (Hirsch) Leezer, Marshfield, his five children; Rosemarie (Tom) Keuler, San Diego, CA, Denise (Bruce) Wilson, St. Paul, MN, Greg (Anne) Leezer, Holly Springs, MS, Tracy (Steve) Woldum Smith, Minneapolis, MN and Paul (Jodi) Leezer, Spencer, WI. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; Adam (Jackie) Keuler, Nichole Keuler, Alexis Leezer, Natalie (James) McElyea, Heather Gillis, T.J. Woldum, Emma Woldum, Sarah Jane Smith, Gracie Leezer and Matthew Leezer. Jim also had five great-grandchildren; Clint and Kelley Reeves, Hailey Hagen, Madilyn and Lilli Barling, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his sister; Betty Thompson, Louisville, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Mabel Leezer, Louisville, KY, a brother; Charles Leezer and a sister; Shirley Windhorst, both of Louisville, KY.

Jim, affectionately called "Ron" by those closest to him, was born April 10, 1934 in Louisville, KY. In 1951 Jim joined the United State Air Force and served during the Korean War. In 1956 he began working for Pillsbury in Louisville, KY. In 1957 he met and married the love of his life, Sarah. During his years at Pillsbury, Jim contributed to the achievements and development of many patents. In the mid 1980's he left Pillsbury and began working at Nelson Jamison, in Marshfield.

Jim always had a story to tell and his grandkids loved receiving bits of wisdom from their "Papaw". He loved to travel, explore his family's genealogy, carve and sculpture wood, spend time at his cabin in Rock Dam, make wine and root for his Green Bay Packers. But, above all else, Jim was happiest sitting on the front porch of his cabin with his wife, Sarah.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 am Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1414 W. 5th Street, Marshfield. A celebration of Jim's life will be held after the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up with Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Leezer family. I worked with Jim during the years he was at Nelson-Jameson. I will always remember his smile, stories, and the bourbon balls he brought in during the holidays. May the happy memories bring you all joy.
