Francis A. Farrar 1935 - 2013 WINDSOR LOCKS, CT - Francis A. Farrar (Fran), 77, of Windsor Locks, CT be loved husband of Dorleen (Matthess) Farrar, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2nd, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with ALS, Lou Gehrigs disease. Fran was born December 5, 1935 in Newton, MA, son of the late James & Helen (Sullivan) Farrar. Fran was a proud Marine and a successful businessman. He owned a business in the printing industry where he was a salesman for Precision Roller Corporation until his retirement in 1995. Fran delighted in entertaining family and friends. He was an accomplished ballroom dancer. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, reading and spending time at his home in Florida during the winter. Besides his wife of 16 years, Fran was the proud and loving father to his daughter Nancy (Farrar) Reardon and her husband Barry of Granby, CT, his son, Ken Farrar of Norwalk, CT., three step-children, and grandfather to five grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren, and his dogs Teddy and Bootz. The family will receive friends and family at their home at 40 Midland Road Windsor Locks, CT on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 1:00 pm -5:00 pm to celebrate Fran's life.
