Jean M. Emanuel
Jean M. Emanuel, 82, of Round Rock, TX, formerly of Whitehall died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Seton Medical Center-Williamson, TX. She is the wife of the late John R. Emanuel who passed away May 29, 2010. Born in White Haven on December 7, 1930 to the late E. Henry and Fietta (Guenther) Meier. Jean retired after 37 years as an elementary school teacher and Title I teacher for the Allentown School District. She was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall where she sang on its choir and various other committees at church, a former member of the Whitehall Womans Club and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed bowling and was an antique collector especially collecting press glass. Survivors: Loving daughter: Jeanette Emanuel-Klingsmith and her husband Tracy L. of Round Rock, TX; brother: Joseph H. Meier of Hellertown; granddaughter: Melissa; several nieces and nephews. Services: Family and friends are invited to call 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 326 Main Street, Hellertown and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 835 Third St. - Whitehall followed by the service at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Martha S. Sipe, officiating. The interment will conclude services at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. Online Expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www.heintzelmancares.com. Jeanette, Tracy, and Missy, I am so sorry for your loss. I am so glad Jean was here for yours and Tracy's wedding you could see just how much she loved all of you (she did a wonderful job as Tracy's best man). She really made us as your friends feel special she will be missed.

My condolences go out to the family...Mrs. Emanuel was a beautiful woman inside and out... I remember all the times she would grab me by my ear and set me in the hallway for not paying attention...She will forever be in many hearts!! Gone but never forgotten

I have wonderful memories of Jean. She was my cooperating teacher at Roosevelt School in1961. She was a wonderful role model,a master educator.

one of my Elementary school teachers she taught me English at Sheridan Elementary in Allentown Pa, I remember her fondly and remember her teaching me this ....Helping verbs: be being been am is are was were will shall should could would do does did may must might has have had can . this stuck with me my whole life ... I am 41 and still remember her room on the third floor of the second building across from Mrs Rice and down from Mr Copco.

Saddened to learn of Jean's death. I taught first grade with her at Roosevelt School. I remember her smile and ready laughter. My sympathy to her family.
