Born in Lehigh Co. she was a daughter of the late Henry A. and Estella (Fenstermaker) Kern. She was of the Lutheran Faith. Survivors: sons; Arthur D. and his companion Adrienne of New Ringold, Barry D. and his companion Judith of Boyertown, sisters; Joyce Hall, Wilma Hein, and Beatrice Middlecamp, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Boyer, Douglas A. - Gilbertsville  
Boyer, Douglas A. Douglas A. Boyer, 73, of Macungie, husband of Linda F. (Rauch) Boyer, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at his home. Born in Pottstown, he was the son of Earl L. Boyer and Mary (Drey) Bauer. Doug was a US Navy veteran who served during the Cuban Crisis. He was a member of the Hereford Gun Club where he was the lead grounds keeper and chief of security. Doug was a truck driver his entire life and retired from McGovern Environmental. Doug also enjoyed deep sea fishing and woodworking. Survivors: Surviving wit his wife of 49 years are daughters Stephanie Radcliffe of BArto, and Marcy Stoudt of Pottstown; sister Veronica Schuler; brothers Larry Boyer, Charles Bauer Jr and Linwood Bauer; grandchildren Zachary, Nathan, Isaac and Tyler, and great grandchildren Aiden, Emmalynn, Nathan Jr., Lily, and Jameson. Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his step father Charles Bauer Sr. and sisters Sandra Grim and Joan Hildenbrand. Services: A memorial service will be Sunday, Sept. 20, 3:00PM at the Hereford Gun Club, 91 Gun Club Road, Barto, PA. Crossley, Dorene F. Dorene Faith Crossley, born on April 11, 1932 passed on August 29, 2015. She was the wife of the late Oscar P. Crossley. Both were reunited in heaven with their heavenly father. Survivors: Dorene is survived by her family. Daughters LuAnn, wife of Mark Oatman, Cindy, wife of Todd Qualley "the favorite son-in-law", Dee Dee, wife of Fred Casavant. Surviviors also include Grandchildren, Paul Lesperance, Laura, wife of Daniel Nogueira, Brian Casavant and his wife Tivan, Kara, wife of Dave Kooistra, and Evan and Jillian Casavant. Great Grandchildren include Emily and Katelyn Lesperance (Residing in heaven with GG), and on earth, Justin Lesperance and Asher Kooistra. Dorene maintained a strong faith in God and was a prayer warrior for her family. She lived a life of sacrifice, always putting others before her own needs. Mom, your life was a living witness and we will always be inspired to be like you. We will remember the promises we made to you, and will continue the legacy you started in our family. We love you now, forever, and always. Services: Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, at 3;00 pm at Faith Wesleyan Church. Dailey, Jacqueline L. - Breinigsville  
Dailey, Jacqueline L. Jacqueline L. Dailey, 63, of Alburtis, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Valley Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Coopersburg. She was the wife of Tommy D. Dailey. They celebrated 28 years of marriage in March. Born in Woodbridge, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Victor Rosenkranz and Eleanore (Kaplowitz) Rosenkranz-Rich. She worked for Macy's Department Store before retiring. Prior she owned and operated the Ninth Street Naillery in Allentown and was a nurse's aide at Phoebe Home and Lehigh Valley Hospice. "Jackie" was a loving wife, mother, grandmother sister and aunt. She was artistic, creative and a gourmet chef, renown in her circle of family, friends and neighborhood. We know we will be reunited in Gods' kingdom and until then we will all miss her every minute of every day. "Jackie' loved others unconditionally and was kind and generous. She was a grateful recipient of a heart and double lung transplant on September 12, 2002 and was a beacon of courage. strength and resolve. Her devoted husband, Tommy, was at her side and together they faced the harsh realities of passing into the Lords Kingdom. He let her know each and every day how much he loved her. Survivors: husband, step-daughter Heather Elawawadh and her husband Hussein; brother James Rosenkranz; sister Elaine Rosenkranz; two step-grandchildren Hassin and Huda; uncle, Sidney Kaplowitz; aunts Pauline Duffey, Shirley Kaplowitz and Sheila Kaplowitz. Fries, Mary Arnold - Northampton  
Fries, Mary Arnold Mary Arnold Fries, 41, of Northampton gave up her battle with cancer on August 29, 2015. She was a loving, caring and very courageous woman. She was the wife of Stephen Fries, the daughter of June (Dougherty) and the late James T. Arnold, Sr. Mary graduated from Northampton High School and Cedar Crest College with a degree in Social Work. She was employed by Northampton Area Public Library for 17 years and led the book club discussions. Mary served at one time as the President of the PTA for Northampton Middle School, was involved in the Friends of the Library and conducted the bus trips for the Friends of the Library. She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Seemsville, PA. At one point she taught a Sunday School class and helped run the nursery during church. Survivors: She is survived by her husband, Stephen, her children, Zackary, Joseph, Jared and Natalie, sisters, Angel and her husband Christopher Firmstone, Heather and her husband Patrick Stewart, Cyndy and her husband Bill Best, brothers, Kevin Arnold and James Arnold, Jr. Mary had several nieces and nephews that she was proud to call family. Also, her best friend, Rachel Bauder Robinson and her mother, Christine Bauder. Many thanks to them for all their assistance during this very trying time. Galgoci, Sylvester Leonard - Summit Hill  
Galgoci, Sylvester Leonard Sylvester "Gus" Leonard Galgoci was born Dec. 28th, 1919 in Lansford PA, the son of Helen Mikulka, and Charles Galgoci. He had 4 brothers, and 4 sisters. He passed away peacefully at his home in Summit Hill, PA, Saturday, August 29th, 2015. He was 95 yrs old. Sylvester lived his life to its fullest and took joy in each day. He grew up in Lansford, PA moving to New York City when he was 16. He found employment at Mount Sinai Hospital. When he was 22 he met and married the love of his life Rose Babik of NYC. They were married August 8th, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army overseas during WWII being honorably discharged as a First Sergeant. He was then active in the Army Reserves until 1958. Sylvester owned and operated two businesses in NYC also working as an oil burner service man. At 37 he was hired by The New York/New Jersey Port of Authority.. He started in Maintenance, became an Electrician, and by the time he retired at 58, he was a Supervisor of Maintenance at Kennedy Airport . Sylvester and Rose retired to Summit Hill PA. In 1978 after residing in Elmont New York for 20 years. His interests included flying his own aircraft. He received his pilots license and flew a Cessna Centurion 150, spending many hours flying over the USA, and The Caribbean. Sylvester scuba dived, sky dived, was very interested in photography, spending many years developing his own pictures. He loved to read, garden, listen to classical music, bird watching, drinking a good beer and spend time with his family. Gus also served on the Carbon County Airport Authority as Vice Chairman and Maintenance Office. He was a life long member of the Summit Hill American Legion. Survivors: Sylvester is survived by his wife Rose Babik. They celebrated their 73rd Wedding Anniversary August 8th, 2015 at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall by renewing their vows, surrounded by their family. He is also survived by daughters, Diane Brosius, and her husband, James Brosius of Frackville PA and Janice Pitkin and her husband Bruce Pitkin of Coplay, PA, grandsons, Joseph, and Christopher and granddaughters, Carolyn, & Lorraine. He is also survived by seven great grandsons, and a great granddaughter. Besides his immediate family he leaves 3 sisters, Sara Yuskanish, Mary Koehler, and Helen Michalik. He will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.He is pre deceased by a daughter Nancy Galgoci, a step grandson, James T Brosius,and siblings Joseph, Charles, Samuel, Catherine and Ernest. Services: Memorial Service is on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. from the Thomas J. Parambo Funeral Home, 54 W. Fell St., Summit Hill. Military Interment will follow at Sky-View Memorial Park in Hometown. Calling Hours are Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday morning from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Garger, Helen Helen Garger, 86, of Whitehall passed away peacefully Saturday, August 29th, 2015 in Weston Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Hellertown. She was the wife of the late Edwin F. Garger who passed away June 21, 2015. Born in Northampton, Helen was the daughter of the late Metro and Mary (Onushanich) Koval. Helen worked at Cross Country Clothes for 30 years before retiring. She loved going to weekend garage sales. Survivors: grandson, Scott Garger and his wife Tara, brother-in-law, Michael Garger and his wife Jan of Allentown. Helen was predeceased by a son, Edwin, brothers John, Basil, Michael, Paul and Andrew Koval, sisters, Anna Ziser and Priscilla Dischinat. Serfass who passed in 1985. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late Roy A., Sr. and Alverna E. (Haydt) Kocher. Betty was employed as a supervisor in the finishing dept of the fmr Natalie Fashions Co., Palmerton, for 28 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member and fmr Sexton of 22 years at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Towamensing. Survivors: Daughters, Polly wife of Charles Treskot of Palmerton, Brenda wife of Douglas Hawk of Saylorsburg, Debra wife of Frank Biege of Lehighton; sons, Barry and wife Joan, Danny and wife Tess, Terry and wife Diane, all of Palmerton; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandhilcren; 3 great-great-granddaughters; sisters Althea Bowman of Northampton, Shirley wife of Edgar Smith of Walnutport, Judy wife of Weldon Ziegenfus, Linda wife of Dwayne Wallace, all of Palmerton; brother, Carl and wife MaryLou Kocher of Kunkletown; many nieces and nephews. Vomero, Sandra - Allentown  
Vomero, Sandra Sandra Vomero of Orefield, passed away on August 30th at the age of 53. She was the daughter of Robert and Audrey Niedermeyer. Sandra graduated from Catasauqua High School and went on to work as a nurse in home health care. She was an animal lover, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping. Sandra had attended the Race Street Baptist Church in Catasauqua. Survivors: Parents Robert and Audrey Niedermeyer, Children: James and wife Cassie Vomero, and Heather Vomero.
