Miller, Dorothy E. - Bath  
Miller, Dorothy E. Dorothy E. Miller, 93, of Bethlehem, formerly of Bath, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Lower Saucon Township, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Carl F. Miller who preceded her in death in 2007. Born in Philadelphia on June 09, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William K. Ellis and Anna M. (Adams) Ward. Dorothy was a graduate of Southern High School in South Philadelphia, class of 1939. She was employed by the former Union Bank in Bethlehem, where she was the receptionist for 15 years before retiring. Previously, she served as a school crossing guard in Bethlehem for many years. Dorothy was an active member of the Mid County Senior Center and Greenbriar Ladies Club both of Bath, and the Cathedral Church of the Nativity, Bethlehem. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Survivors: She is survived by her companion, Russell Weiss with whom she resided, loving children, John A. Lindsay, William E. Lindsay, Sr. and his wife, Patricia and Dorothy M. "Dotty" Narvaez all of Northampton; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson; along with her beloved pet cat, Gracie. In addition to her late husband, Carl, she was preceded in death by her 2nd husband, Paul Pokojni in 1982, as well as her former husband, John J. Lindsay in 1999, and a grandson, Robert Lindsay. Services: will be held on Monday, June 01, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Hecktown. Palmisano, Angelo F. - Wind Gap  
Palmisano, Angelo F. Angelo F. Palmisano, Jr., 76, of Wind Gap, PA, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Klump) Palmisano; together they shared 53 years of marriage. Born August 4, 1938 in Easton, he was a son of the late Angelo and Margaret (Caponigro) Palmisano. Angelo graduated from Easton High School in 1956 and Churchman Business School in 1958. He honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961. Earlier he worked for Collins & Aikman for 12 years, and later retired from Hoffman LaRoche in Belvidere, NJ. He enjoyed working outdoors, especially tending his flower gardens. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Pen Argyl. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Sandra, Angelo is survived by his son, Brian Palmisano of Wind Gap. Also surviving are three brothers, Albert and Gerald of Easton and Anthony of Roslyn; and four sisters, Geraldine Fahringer of Bath, Rose Catalino of Roseto, Lucia Palmisano of Scranton and Margherite Mueller of North Carolina. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Carl and a sister Angie. Services: Family and friends are invited to call from 6:00 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, June 2 at the Schmidt Funeral Home, 202 West Street, Wind Gap, and from 9:30 - 10:15 am on Wednesday, June 3, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, 300 West Babbitt Avenue, Pen Argyl. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am in the church, with the Rev. Msgr. Vincent York presiding. Burial will be in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Angelo's name may be offered to the Building Fund of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, at the above address. Castro Santiago, Felisa Felisa Castro Santiago, 64, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015, in St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill. Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Irma Santiago Rios and the late Nelson Castro Cruz. For the past 14 years Felisa worked for Hunterdon Development in Clinton, NJ. She was a member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church in Bethlehem. Survivors: Surviving with her mother is a son Felix Lopez of Bethlehem; sisters, Migdalia Rios of Deltona, FL, Marissa Castro of Puerto Rico and Madeline Vargas of Emmaus and a grandson, Nevin Lopez. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Holy Infancy Catholic Church, 312 E. Fourth St., Bethlehem 18015. Sherer Sr., Timothy R. - Bath  
Sherer, Sr., Timothy R. Timothy R. Sherer, Sr., 53, of Bethlehem Township, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at his residence. Born in Fountain Hill on March 13, 1962, he was a son of Dorothy B. (Vincent) Sherer with whom he resided and the late Gilbert H. Sherer. Timothy was a graduate of Freedom High School, class of 1980. Prior to his disability, he worked in the maintenance department of St. Luke's University Hospital, Fountain Hill. Timothy was a member of the Roosevelt Democratic Club, Bethlehem Township and St. John's United Church of Christ of Farmersville. Survivors: In addition to his loving mother, Dorothy, he is survived by two sons, Timothy R. Sherer, Jr. and Ross Sherer both of Missouri; three grandchildren; a brother, Bryon Sherer and his girlfriend, Audrey Bechtel of Tioga County; a sister, Deborah Bredbenner of Bethlehem Township; a niece, Casey Stewarts and her husband, Jon of Laurys Station; and two nephews, Jeffrey Sherer of Coledale and David Sherer of Salisbury Township. Services: A Memorial Service in celebration of Timothy's life will be held on Tuesday, June 02, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014. Sterner, Betty M. Betty M. Sterner, 91, of Macungie, died May 28, 2015 in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the widow of Russell K. Sterner. Born in Macungie, she was the daughter of the late Raymond H. and Verna E. (Mack) Seislove. She worked for the former REMS Company and for Rodale, Emmaus for 42 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus. She was a member of the Lower Macungie Senior Citizens and past secretary for Upper Milford Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors: Daughters, Sandy wife of William Schultz of Scottsdale, AZ, Brenda wife of the late Steve Welling of Marblehead, MA, and Debra Padrone of Macungie; 6 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Services: Funeral Services Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus. Viewing 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Toth, Diane M. Diane M Toth, 72, of Allentown, passed away May 27, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospital Allentown, PA. She was married to the late Edward Toth and is the daughter of the late Anthony and Eleanor (Lehman) Shurilla. Diane worked as an administrative assistant at the former Bell of Pennsylvania in Allentown for 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and overseas and spending time with the family. She was a member of the Cathedral St Catharine of Siena for 72 years. Survivors: Sister: JoAnne Conroy of Allentown Brothers: Anthony Shurilla of Alburtis, Donald Shurilla of Whitehall, Wayne Shurilla of Langhorne Several Nieces And Nephews Predeceased by her brother, Richard Shurilla Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 1 at 10:00 am at Cathedral St. Catharine of Siena Church, 18th & Turner Sts., Allentown. Trexler, Irene Jane - Macungie  
Trexler, Irene Jane Irene Jane (Mellin) Trexler, 89, of Hamburg passed away on Sunday, May 24th, in her residence She was the wife of the late Lewis Pharoh Trexler who died December 9, 1997. They had 50 years of marriage together. Born in Bethlehem, PA on January 25, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Anna (Zsganyar) and Michael Mellin, natives of Yugoslavia. In the past Irene worked at Bethlehem Steel Co. as a Teletype Operator. She met her husband and became a farmers wife. She was owner/operator of Bona Vista Farm in Hamburg for 54 years. She retired from Hamburg Knitting Mills in 1988 where she was a sewing machine operator for 15 years. She was a member of St John's Windish Lutheran Church of Bethlehem, PA. Survivors: son, Lewis P. Trexler Jr., of Mahanoy City, PA 3 daughters, Marilyn A. Trexler, of Hamburg, PA, Marlene R. Trexler, of Reading, PA, and Melanie J. Rubright wife of Brian Rubright of Leesport,PA. 3 grandchildren, Lewis P. Trexler III, Richard Trexler and Nicole L. Kmetz and 6 great grandchildren. Three beloved dogs, Bodie, Snoopy, and Zoie. She was preceeded in death by siblings Ernest Mellin, Ethel Pireda, Lillian Zrinski and Mary Gombocz. Services: Graveside, 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 3rd at St Michael's Church Cemetery, 529 St. Michaels Road Hamburg, PA.

Apple, Berniece "Moni" - Bethlehem  
Apple, Berniece "Moni" Berniece "Moni" K. Apple, 92, of Bethlehem, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. She was born in Tamaqua, the daughter of the late George and Charlotte (Ditchy) Krell. She was the devoted wife to Dr. John M. Apple, Sr. who died in 1976. Berniece was a nurse in the U.S. Army Nursing Corps during WWII. She was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed gardening, horseback riding, hiking and doing the Sunday New York Times Crossword Puzzle. She was also a very talented bowler who held a 170 average well into her 80's. She was a member of the Saucon Valley Country Club. Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her children, John "Chip" Apple and wife, Donna of New Fairfield, CT; Ted Apple and wife, Cheryl of Dunnellon, FL; and Lynn Apple and husband, A. Martin Dansbury, III of Newtown, PA; Tom Apple and wife, Anne of Honolulu, HI; grandchildren, John Matthew Apple, III and wife, Delta of Danbury, CT; and Jennifer Apple Malichio and husband, Matthew of Greenwich, CT; brother, Ted Krell and wife, Joyce of Hometown, PA; and her nephews. Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem. An 11 a.m. funeral service will follow.
