Alice E. McCarroll
Alice E. McCarroll, 90, of Hanover Township, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Moravian Village in Bethlehem. She and her husband, Edward J. McCarroll celebrated their 40th anniversary last April. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Repp) Foote. Alice was a graduate of Coughlin High School in Wilkes Barre and attended Wyoming Seminary. She volunteered for the American Red Cross during World War II and was an assistant librarian in public schools while living in Ohio. Alice loved to spend time with her family and friends and enjoyed gardening, travel and the natural world. Alice and Ed were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem. Survivors: Her loving husband, Edward; sons, John Lenahan and his wife Marcia Toder of Hagerstown, MD and William Lenahan and his wife Dorothy of Harrisburg; grandson, Patrick Lenahan and granddaughter, Kathryn Lenahan, her husband, Alex Brophy and their son, Thomas. Services: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, where friends may call from 12 noon until the time of the service.
