Anna Popovich, 91, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, South Whitehall Township. Born in Hokendauqua, on August 12, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Stoppy) Stoppy who, came to America from Austria, Hungary. Anna was predeceased by her husband, George Popovich, Sr., who passed away in 1967. Anna was a clothing examiner for the former Universal Pants Factory, Northampton. Anna was a member of St. Pauls R.C. Church, Allentown and served as an usher for many years. She also worked at the voting polls in Salisbury Township for many years. Survivors: Sons, George Popovich, Jr. and wife, Jane, of Salisbury Township, Dale Popovich and wife, Roseann, of South Carolina; sister, Helen Lichtenwalner of Allentown; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; devoted nephew, Ronald Lichtenwalner and wife, Victoria; niece, Donna Schneider and husband, Joseph. Predeceased by sisters, Irene Stoppy and Mary Pummer; and brothers, Harry and John Stoppy. Services: A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 27 from 9 to 10 a.m. in the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Inc., 46 E. Susquehanna Street, Allentown followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pauls R.C. Church, 2nd and Susquehanna Streets, Allentown.
