Barton R. Humlhanz
Cpl. Barton R. Humlhanz U.S.M.C. of Hellertown, formerly of Doylestown, was killed in action by enemy fire in the central Iraqi province of Babil. He was 23. Born in Doylestown, he was a son of Michele Groman Carey and Donald Carey of Hellertown and Edward Barton Humlhanz of Doylestown. Bart attended Linden Elementary School, Doylestown, Log College Middle School, Warminster and William Tennett High School, graduating from Saucon Valley High School in January 2001. Cpl. Humlhanz enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 2001, following the attacks on the United States on Sept. 11, 2001. He received two meritorious promotions during his two year career with the Marines. His most recent promotion to corporal was on June 1, 2004. Bart graduated with high honors in his military combat training program and was awarded Marine of the Quarter at Camp Lejeune from Dec. 2003 to March 2004. Although dedicated to the Marine Corps, Bart never forgot to show his love to his family and friends. Survivors:

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service, 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, 2004, Reed & Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown.
