Carl L. Doroff, 100, of Bethlehem, passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Ann T. (Hartman) Doroff, who passed away in 1978. Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Frank Zeichner, Sr. and Elise (Tjarks) Zeichner Doroff. Carl began his railroading career as a yard clerk with Patapsco & Black Rivers Railroad at Bethlehems Sparrows Point, MD plant. He retired as Vice President of the combined six subsidiary lines, which included the PB&NE Railroad in Bethlehem, where he worked until 1974. He was a member of the former Bethlehem Club and a life-long member of the Rotary Club of Bethlehem. Carl served on the Board of Directors of LANTA as secretary for many years. Survivors: Great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Zeichner, Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Marie Zeichner Upp. Services: Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, January 11 in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until time of service.
