Carl R. Jones
Carl R. Jones, 86, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Kathyrine (Morris) Jones, who died in 1977. Born in Bangor, Carl was a son of the late Charles and Belle (Shoup) Jones. He served in the US Army during WWII and later worked in the construction trade as a millwright supervisor. He was a member of the Carpenters and Joiners Union #600, the American Legion, the Windgap Legion, the Independent Citizens Club of Bethlehem Township and was a past president of the former 4th Ward Citizens Club of Bangor. He was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors: Sisters, Betty Quay and her husband George of California, Joyce Bennett and her husband Orville of Quakertown, Barbara Remmey and her husband Jack of New Jersey, Mary Lou Jones of Scranton; brothers, Charles E. Jones of Easton, Thomas R. Jones and his wife Patricia of Ackermanville; daughters-in-law, Jennie Phillips of Florida, Kay Lanari of Bangor; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by his stepsons, Harold Phillips, Jr. and Kenneth Phillips; a great-grandson, Cody Edwards; a brother, James G. Jones; and his sisters, Helen Schiavone and Doris Trenchard. Services: Funeral Service, at 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 28, in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.
