Cedric C. Brown
Cedric C. Rick Brown, age 62, of Nazareth, PA, died Monday, February 24, 2014, unexpectedly in his home. Rick was born in Fountain Hill, PA and grew up in Pen Argyl, PA. He was the loving son of Ellen (Schlegel) Brown and the late Glenn Brown. Beloved husband of Diane (Taylor) Brown, they would have celebrated 30 years of marriage this May, and was the devoted father of Mandi and Ryan Brown. Rick was a graduate of Pen Argyl High School class of 1969. He the graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1973 and then went on to serve in the Army
, maintaining rank of captain. He is a 1983 graduate of Rutgers University where he earned his MBA. With his entrepreneurial spirit, he started his own company, Pathfinder Sign Systems, which allowed him the flexibility to spend more time with his family and also allowed him to never wear a tie. Rick enjoyed attending and coaching his childrens sporting events, and was even known to dance on top of his van to show team spirit. Rick continued to show his team pride at football games when his children attended Penn State and West Point. Most recently, Rick was active in the Pen Argyl Alumni Association and planning his class reunions. He also served as mentor to future cadets on the West Point Admissions Board. Rick was always the life of the party and enjoyed entertaining family and friends, driving his Mustang around town, and being a devoted Republican. Survivors:
Survivors include his loving wife, Diane; daughter, Mandi and her fiance, Christopher Cody; son, Ryan; mother, Ellen of Bethlehem, PA; brother, Chris of Bethlehem, PA; sister, Debra Joiner and her husband, Buel, of Spring, TX; dog, Buster; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 11 a.m., at the Guerro & Ruggiero Funeral Home, www.ruggierofuneralhome.com
, 126 E. Pennsylvania Avenue, Pen Argyl. There will be viewing hours Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of services, all at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl. Contributions:
