Charles Blum
Charles S. Blum, 78 years of age, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning July 13, 2013 at his home in Fullerton. Born in Allentown to the late Henry J. and Cecelia (Bruckner) Blum, he was the husband of Bette L. (Steele) Blum for almost 54 years. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and The Golden Agers. A 1952 graduate of Whitehall High School and later Kutztown University, he honorably served with the US Marine Corps. Earlier in life he worked for GAC, and later for Erie Insurance, retiring in 1997 as a Sr. Claims Supervisor after 37 years of service. He was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367, and a dedicated and faithful supporter of Whitehall High School athletic programs. Survivors: Besides his wife; daughters, Lisa L. Rodriguez and Lynn A. Roman; grandchildren, Alexandra Miller and her husband Joshua, Adriana Rodriguez, Sela and Jack Roman; great-granddaughter, Riley; niece and nephew; predeceased by brother, James Blum. Services: His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in the Church, 618 Fullerton Ave, Whitehall, PA, 18052, located one block south of the Fullerton Ave. exit of Route 22. Visitation with his family will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Gilbert Funeral Home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, located directly across from the Church. There will be no visitation in Church on Wednesday morning.
