Charles Chuck Hrichak, 87, of Freemansburg, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013. He was born October 9, 1925; son of the late John and Helena (Sorich) Hrichak. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Margaret (Marcincin) Hrichak in 1981. Chuck worked as a photographer in the advertising department at the Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 28 years, retiring in 1982. After his retirement, he was the tax collector for the Borough of Freemansburg, and a funeral assistant for Connell Funeral Home. Chuck proudly served his country in the US Army Tank Corp. during WWII and was a past commander of the Freemansburg American Legion Post 31. He was a member of the Hellertown VFW, the Knights of Columbus, and the Lions Club. Chuck also volunteered much of his time at the St. Francis Retreat House in Easton. Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his long-time companion, Marge Holland; sons, Philip C. Hrichak of Winston Salem, NC, Jon A. Hrichak of Rochester, NY; and daughter, Maryann Hrichak of San Francisco, CA. He will also be missed by three grandchildren. Chuck was predeceased by four brothers, John, Peter, Michael, and George; and five sisters, Mary Hrichak, Helen McCutcheon, Anna Hrichak, Elizabeth Serfass, and Irene Orefice. Services: A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018 from6 to8 p.m Another visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at the funeral home from 8 to 9 a.m. with Panachida to begin at 9 a.m. Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be 10 a.m. on Monday at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, 1140 Johnston Dr., Bethlehem, PA 18017.
