Charles E. Messics, 84, of Bethlehem, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at Holy Family Manor. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Magyarics) Mesics. Charles honorably served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a draftsman, a real estate salesman and an estimator until retiring, He was a member of St. Josephs Windish Catholic Church in Bethlehem and the Jefferson Democratic Club. Survivors: Children, Mark and his wife Karen of Orefield, Dr. Sharon Messics of Crownsville, MD, Dave and his wife Susan of Jarrettsville, MD, Suzanne of Philadelphia, Eric of Palmerton; grandchildren, Collin, Patrick, Megan and Erica; brother, John Messics of Bethlehem. Charles was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Ernest; and sisters, Theresa and Julie. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday December 20, 2013 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 416 E. 5th St, Bethlehem, PA 18015. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. The inurnment with military honors will be at Holy Saviour Cemetery.
