Sgt. Christopher P. Geiger, 38, of Kreidersville Road, Northampton, died July 9 in Afghanistan, where he was stationed with the 213th Area Support Group based at the Allentown National Guard Armory. He was a warehouse technician for Aldrich Chemical Co., Fogelsville. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Penn State University in 1992. Born in Allentown, he was a son of George A.H. and Patricia A. (O'Donnell) Geiger of East Allen Township. He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Northampton. He was a member of Catholic War Veterans Post 454, Northampton; Sons of Union Veterans; the 96th Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers, Company G; Laurel Fire Company, Cementon, Ringgold Historical Society. He was a corporal in Durrell's Battery D, a Civil War re-enactment group based in New Ringgold. Survivors: Parents; brothers, Michael and David, both of Northampton, Timothy and Terrence, both of Allentown; sister, Roseanne Reenock of Northampton; maternal grandmother, Mary O'Donnell of East Allen Township; nieces, nephews.
